But as we have progressed in understanding the virus and its mutations, we have consequently learned how to deal with the pandemic waves. At the beginning of this year, more and more countries are choosing to ease their travel restrictions so that their travel industry could breathe all over again.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has claimed that travel restrictions are ineffective, and such requirements do not help control the spread of the virus. The travel restrictions  “do not provide added value and continue to contribute to the economic and social stress” of countries.

Hawaii is going to lift its strict COVID-19 entry requirements

Many countries are reassessing their travel regulations, for instance, Hawaii is going to lift its strict  COVID-19 entry requirements on March 26, announced by Governor David Y. Ige. Italy on the other hand has lifted its pre-arrival testing requirement to vaccinated travelers. Those traveling to Italy will be able to enter the country by simply showing they have been fully vaccinated within nine months or have received a booster shot. Though all travelers will have to fill out the Passenger Locator Form before arriving in the country, otherwise, they will have to undergo a five-day quarantine before testing out of it.

Unvaccinated travelers must either prove they have either recovered from COVID-19 within six months; show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their trip, or show proof of a negative rapid test taken within 48 hours of their trip.
